Welcome to the official website of the Kent Vegan Festival. We hope you find our website useful wherever you are in your vegan journey.
The first Kent Vegan Festival took place in October 2015. The second was May 2016.
Our third festival will be held on the 6th May 2017 (10am-6pm) at the Westgate Hall in Canterbury. Tickets on the door only – £3 (under 11s free)
We aim to be an annual event and may increase to include additional/fringe events as we progress.
The aim of the Kent Vegan Festival is to raise awareness about veganism as a
compassionate, holistic, healthy and intrinsically non-violent way of life. The
events are inclusive and welcoming, with the aim of encouraging all
people in their vegan journey.
We believe in a pro-intersectional approach to veganism. Systems of oppression are interconnected and cannot be challenged in isolation.
The festival is aimed at people who are, or are thinking about becoming vegan, those already moving towards the lifestyle; or who are just interested in finding out more about what veganism really means.
Our approach is to be supportive, educational, encouraging and positive: we believe in non-violence to all living beings and in peaceful, friendly, non-discriminatory means of campaigning and communicating our message. We believe that this is the most effective way to teach people about all aspects of veganism and to increase the number of vegans in the world.
